New Brewing Equipment

New brewing equipment

I got a lot of new stuff for beer brewing for Christmas this year. You can see my old fermenter on the right of the picture (the water jug) and the new buckets and brew kettle on the left. I was using a brew kettle that was too small to hold enough water before. A more experienced brewer friend of mine indicated that my issues with too-bitter hops might be due to my using too little water for the boil.

My brewing capacity will now be five gallons instead of two, which will allow me to brew full batch from most homebrew supplies, including the ingredient kits that I have been getting from Austin Homebrew.

I also got a bottling wand and an auto-siphon along with the new fermenters and the brew kettle. Should be some good brewing to come this year.
